Tasting Notes for 1996 Robert Mondavi Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon

Very, very good. As of this writing the highest-rated cab (in fact, the highest-rated wine) on my list. Smooth, velvety texture. A medley of soft, clear, resonant flavors. Soft and dry, with grape skins as the most dominant flavor. Ample fruit notes throughout the palate: raspberry, blueberry, blackberry. Fades to table grapes with hints of Concord grapes in finish. Highly recommended. Low $40s. [May 2000]
