Tasting Notes for 1997 Longoria Cabernet Franc

A small winery from the Santa Ynez Valley in Santa Barbara County, Longoria produced only a couple hundred cases of this wine. Quite drinkable but not earth-shattering. Some vanilla and cedar in the clean nose. No agressive tannins. Improves dramatically when drunk from a Bordeaux glass rather than a narrow tasting glass. Cellarable; if you drink now you may wish to decant. $22 at the winery tasting room. [July 2000]
