Tasting Notes for 1977 Graham's Vintage Port

Very, very drinkable right now. A huge nose with blackberry, blackberry jam, and prominent cassis. Unashamedly non-creamy, which offsets the fruit flavors well. The tongue hits a wall of spirity brandy which keeps the sweetness from being cloying. I recommend enthusiastically. $108 to $140 for a bottle at the time of this writing, or $14 to $16 per glass at a restaurant. [July 2000]
