Nose shows merlot grape with notes of pralines and cocoa. Moderately big. Round, smooth, nice tannic finish. Palate shows blueberry, blueberry stem, toasted oak, and toasted marshmallow. Rich and fairly sweet. Improves dramatically after decanting and allowing to breathe. I would expect this to be much better in a few years. [May 2000]
