Insert. Self-Aggrandizement. Here.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is mcgees.org‘s 2000th post!  Wow!

I think this deserves celebration.  Here are some ideas for celebrations:

1. Fancy graphics and clever witticisms.
2. A survey of the last ten years, choosing excerpts from my 10/100/1,000 favorite posts.
3. Asking readers to choose their favorite 10/100/1,000 posts, bugging them for it repeatedly, and posting the results here.
4. Extensive thanks of my regular readers, including suggestions that there are way more of them than there are in actuality.
5. Admitting that this is just a dumb blog, and that I should just fucking get over myself already.

Suggestions?  Please vote!  All 30,000 of you!  I’ll reveal my choice when I get twenty submissions.  And my favorite 1,000 posts.

Congratulations on 2,000! It’s probably a lame choice, but this post helped me out quite a bit, and I’ve been meaning to blog about it. Also, I did manage to send a letter to the school district as you suggested in your recent post (like my link titles?). That was influential on me; I tried to spread the word, but it fell on deaf ears, even among atheist bloggers.

Let’s celebrate with margaritas! First round’s on me.

@Jordon:  That was so cool of you to answer the question.  I feel like a dick now explaining that I was just trying to poke fun at myself and didn’t mean for anyone to answer — but I’d feel worse if more people answered.

@Karina:   Now that can get behind.  :-)

@Jordon: And I agree, that (mostly-stolen, as linked in the post) rsync backup solution is crazy-cool.
