Here is my photographic study of my Dad from today, with suboptimal equipment, entitled “Have You Seen My Reindeer?”

Thank you! When I was working on it in GIMP (like a free Linux Photoshop) I was playing with the centering. Part of me wanted all my dad right of the vertical bisector, but I didn’t have a ton of extra on the left (4×3 image) and I wanted a comfortable amount of the car. I felt I needed to show the entire trunk, the house roofs, and his shoes, and that cutting into any of them would look unprofessional. But the vertical bisector cuts him, which doesn’t evoke as much “lostness” as it would were he were really off to one side.

But I suppose that all of that is secondary to the cell phone camera I was using!

Anyway, I tried my best.

(I thought showing the roofs was necessary to prove that the reindeer were not up there! But I really wanted more of the lonely road.)
