It’s a tool to flip meat while doing the least damage to the meat

This is better than tongs how? Real question. Haven't searched YouTube.

When I was doing a lot of cooking, I finally got a total of four [pairs of] tongs. They're my most indispensable (least dispensable?) cooking tool.

"Pig tail flipper" is a home and BBQ cooking tool. I gave them as gifts....

I bought them in a nice case with a long-handled and short-handled pig tail flipper...the short one for inside the long for the BBQ.

It's a tool to flip meat while doing the least damage to the meat or poking large holes in it that would let out juices.

The name comes from the "business end" of the tool that is curly...like a pigs tail...with a pointed tip. And it comes with either left or right-handed options.

The idea is that you poke a tiny hole in the meat and then "flip" it to cook the other side.

Thus "pigtail food flipper". You can see a demo on Youtube.
