The Truth About Parents and Zombies

You can expect truth from the Boston PD in the case of zombie attacks.  I had been wondering.

“PD” stands for “Police Department”.  If you are the petrified parent of a teenager (tweenie?) and need help with more difficult ones such as “FMLTWIA” or why your kid always types “PIR” at lightspeed when you enter the room, look no further than Fox for assistance.

I didn’t know ANY of the acronyms listed. I always have to spell everything out when I’m texting. And it really pisses me off when people send me messages with internet lingo or IM talk, or whatever the fuck you call that. If that makes me a square, then so be it, haha.

And speaking of zombies, I was at a bookstore some time ago and almost bought this book. I still don’t know why I didn’t. :/

  3. I didn’t know ANY of the acronyms listed

I knew ASL (née A/S/L) from a misspent mid-teens on AOL, and while I could probably reason out “banana” and “kitty” given sufficient time and graph paper, I’m not sure how many of the others were simply made up.  Maybe they consulted Megan Jasper for assistance?  If modern IM culture is anything near as self-aware and faux-jaded as the Seattle-speak of my youth, maybe Fox have just created a pain ride-worth of slang.

    I still don’t know why I didn’t

Because you’re a fan of llamas?

I prefer alpacas, thank you very much. And oh how I wish I could get away with using Grunge Speak… :D
