He even holds his head like me

He’s not pretending.  He’s not just looking at the pictures.  He’s not moving his lips.  He’s not even distractable.  He is, however, five years old.  And he is my boy.

  1. What a nice sight to see. It really is something to be proud of, especially these days!

  2. No, even I am not enough of a jerk to title this “He even holds his head as I do”, even though it is less ambiguous as English transitions from a semantic to a positional grammar.

  3. Hi Jordon, didn’t see your comment as I was writing mine as you posted.  So, if it is not clear, my comment has nothing to do with your comment.  Er, my first comment doesn’t.  The second comment does.

  4. And, although the referent is indeterminate, so does the third.

  5. The fourth, however, could simply be construed as a comment on my own comments, ignoring your comment.  Except that I’ve now referenced your comment, sabotaging the good intentions of this comment.

  6. The fifth comment has nothing to do with any other comments other than itself.

  7. The sixth comment refers to one other comment, the fifth, when it notes that “any other comments other than itself” is not grammatical.

  8. Okay, that makes more sense now. (Well, it did at first.) And I wouldn’t worry about the grammar. I consider myself a pretty big grammarian, but the headline passed by me unnoticed. (It could be the 14-hour school day that had something to do with it…)

  9. The seventh comment, for purposes of flow, would like to be blank, but the attempt is thwarted immediately.

  10. And the eighth is yet a twinkle in your eye. Josh, you are having way too much fun with this.
