MGMT
I heard today what is, to me, a new song by a new band: Kids, by the band MGMT.
It is exceedingly good, reminiscent simultaneously of The Flaming Lips, Bowie, and Tears for Fears, if you can get your head around that.
I’ve only heard the one single, but will likely give the rest a listen — and probably buy or trade for it.

I think it’s the best song on the album. The rest of the album is really good, but Kids is the standout (along with Time to Pretend).
Glad you found it. Glad you like it.

Can’t say that I’ve really listened to them, but I’ve heard good things. Apparently the “next big thing.” Although that doesn’t really say much, does it? A lot of bands who are categorized as that at some point, end up never being heard of again. So who knows.
That will be my new year’s resolution, see what all the fuss is about. Along with getting myself a pet gremlin, of course.

Kids is a terrific track. Dave is also correct about Time to Pretend, and I’ll add Love Always Remains to the list. Really, though, I can listen to the entire album straight through without skipping a single song; it’s very well assembled.
