I would hope that even if I'm a Christian and a pastor I would continue to have some intellectual integrity. I can see the idiots in the midst of (and outside of) the fold. And I would agree about her unecessary venom.

PS....Merry Christmas!

I'm having trouble getting my head around this.

1. You're a christian and a pastor.
2. You're my father.
3. I think of you, for better or worse, every time I write a post about religion, thinking (as I've written before) how I would feel if Niall ended up so far opposed to me:

So now for the serious part. My Dad’s a loyal mcgees.org reader. And I think what it would be like if, in 25 years, Niall was to have a website in which he decries Henry David Thoreau, Carl Sagan, Linus Torvalds, and Eddie Vedder as the “Unholy Trinity” and declares Jesus Christ his personal Lord and Savior in between bouts of typing in tongues (always wondered if Evangelicals do that last part.)

I was sure I had mentioned that "probably is no god; enjoy yourself" line on mcgees.org before, but I cannot find it. Maybe I didn't. C'est dommage. But that's obviously not what I'm talking about (and it wasn't her line to begin with): it's her unnecessary venom.

Do you disagree? Really? This is an olive branch. I'm being moderate.

Yeah, can't get my head around it. Maybe you just revel in the confrontation.

Let me know...

I can see how a quote like,
"There's probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life", would leave you cold.

Supercilious indeed.
