The mcgees.org eBay Bidder Blacklist
eBay make(s) it possible to blacklist (or, if you will, black list) bidders. This prevents the named eBay users from bidding on one’s auctions. The page has been made much more difficult to find, so here you go.
Given eBay’s recent “reforms” that essentially assume all buyers are good and all sellers are criminals, blocking bidders is going to be, more and more, the only recourse for sellers.
I’ll seed the list. I’ll maintain it in this top post in a form you can just cut-and-paste into your blocked list. I’ll have a comment that justifies each addition. Feel free to use my list. If you have additions, post your eBay ID, the bidder(s)’s ID(s), and the reason you block them. I’ll check it out, and if you have glowing feedback and the other guy has lousy feedback, I’ll incorporate your addition into my list.
Sellers can block up to 1000 User IDs. Yes, that’s a drop in the bucket, but it’s a start. Let’s get this list as close to 1000 bidders as possible. When we pass thirty User IDs, I’ll make it a text file you can download, rather than a list you cut-and-paste.
If you are one of the blocked bidders, you are welcome to post here and, in a civilized manner, explain why you do not deserve to be blacklisted. You get one shot at this. I will warn you in advance that it will be much more difficult to get off this list than to get on: the purpose of this is to protect sellers, something that eBay has/have ceased to do.

The whole idea, of course, is the cost of losing a bid from one of these clowns is much lower than the cost of dealing with a non-paying bidder.
Too bad eBay limits you to 1000 — we’re coming up on that mighty quickly, if wc is to be believed.

I’m sorry for the post and run earlier, I should have elaborated. The users named above were either on my blocked list or those of close contacts. The majority of the user names collected are/were related to the clothing, accessories, and collectibles categories. You may want to become more selective and find lists of potenial *problem* bidders in your own niche when they (and hopefully they will be plentiful!) become available. Currently the blocked limit is 1,000 but will increase to 5,000 in May of this year. GEE, thanks ebay
Remove the little protection we had to fend off bogus buyers and give us the *bonus* of adding a whole 1/100,000,000 additional, POTENTIAL &$(%^’s to our lists. Oh, the defense….
In the meantime…Praying for a fair marketplace and hoping ebay (ok, I’ve had it with them!) gets what they deserve. Payback is always hell

dbear1251 – bidder was extremely unreasonable after UPS lost the package. Late night calls were made to me demanding information only UPS could know. This was after I emailed the bidder all the information I knew and told them the time line UPS required for lost packages. Even when I refunded the bidder’s money minutes after I received the final decision from UPS, the bidder left negative feedback stating I was slow to refund. Bidder even demanded interest on their purchase money….so frustrating!

I sell vintage clothing on ebay and I also am sick of the increasing number of non-paying bidders. My latest NON-PAYING BIDDER is tikka_rotti. She purchased a pair of UNIQUE Vintage 1980′s Black CAMPUS PIRATE Boots – CUFF for $122. After 3 weeks and no payment I finally gave up. I had contacted her early on as she was a new ebayer and when she finally did contact me, in response to an UNPAID ITEM DISPUTE, she promised to pay monday (kind of like the ‘cheques in the mail’). Needless to say no payment or further contact at all. I did try contacting her via email, SMS and mobile but she ignored me. She bought & paid for other items from other sellers during this time but apparently she had changed her mind about my boots.
I really don’t understand why people bid when they either don’t intend to pay or can’t pay. And while EBAY offers “second chance offers’ to the next bidders in line, by the time you’ve waited for the winning bidder to pay (and they don’t), the other bidders have already bought elsewhere so you are back to relisting! GREAT!
Thanks to EBAY’s “no negative feedback for buyers rule” other sellers are not aware of NON-PAYING BIDDERS so a site like this is perfect! Thank you so much, it’s nice to feel that although EBAY is throwing us to the wolves to fend for ourselves someone is doing something!

P.S. Okay EBAY won’t let us tell the truth about our experiences with buyers – makes no sense but to be truthful EBAY hasn’t been making much sense at all lately. But why, after a UNPAID ITEM DISPUTE has closed due to non-payment, can’t a message be activated by EBAY in the buyers feedback stating – NON-PAYING BIDDER for the item??

Arthur26 is a horrible person. Bought a clarinet from me. I described it perfectly and it was used only a couple weeks and my son changed instruments. She bought it had it over 2 months and sends me an email saying the cork was in awful shape and it was severly damaged and could not be repaired. That she was told it had to have seen extreme use to be in such awful shape. Since I sold it, I know the shape it was in and it was perfect. Then she demanded I refund her money within 3 days and once she received the refund including shipping she would then return it to me. Anyway, after an email or two she finally admitted that it was the cork that was damaged and could be replaced, but that it was a cheap clarinet. Well, geez, she only paid $50 for it….She went on and on about how I ruined her daughters band experience and I owed her more than the amount she paid. Anyway, sellers, STAY AWAY…..

Wrong Paypal address on file, item therefore not received by buyer. Buyer demanded a refund. Refused to update PayPal address. Offered replacement AND provided refund, buyer still not happy. Spent a large amount of time and angst with this complainy-pants guy over a $1.00 item. Seller beware.

generousity_1982 was an absolute nightmare buyer no feedback and purchesed a car without contact before the close of auction. when contacted he tried to negotiate on price immediatly and asked if the cambelt had been changed.
Arranged to collect the car the next day but failed to make contact, when contacted again he said he had not bid on the car it was his friend who had bought another car and now didn’t want this one.
It was explained that he was obligated to purchase and again he began to try and negotiate on price.
flat refused to pay and has lied to ebay saying he has had no contact with non existant friend when he’s told me he’s tried to make him buy the car again on several occasions.
i am writing this in the hope that someone will google his username and avoid this time wasting no good liar if hes currently bidding on your car remove him coz you’ll never see a penny.

First Hello Joshua, if you see spelling errors please forgive as i have something similar to dyslexia, where words come out screwy when i type fast, that said…I sell clothing and other items, i offer a refund up to 3days for any reason, and if its my error i retrun shipping charges too. Well i have the customer from hell, she claimed a dress was not as described, told me she wanted an immediate refund and if i wanted to pay her shipping it back to me and a 5.00 handling fee she would ship it back, threatened neg, and paypal recourse, i told her go for it in a Very nice way, 13 emails later, she dont stop i can send the emails, about how ugly i am, i live in a box, i needed the money to pay a liight bill, just on and on, I have been professional behind and in front of the scenes, but she;s bothersome. she has 8 feedback and left 2 negs… im sure if she likes you your great if she dont, and you dont do it her way…shes harsh. Ive never done this before so hope im doing this right, she says she got a 100% positve feedback, thats a given what else can she recieve but you can read one that says she never even paid for the item. her id is shimmering123 my ebay id is missneo714

OK, I was kind of waiting for this to happen.
I have no interest in mediating.
I have no interest in researching or vetting.
I have no interest in C&D letters, and no interest in lawsuits.
This is what killed early email blacklist products.
What have we learned since then? Any ideas? And should I maybe dedicate a whole site to this?

In the mean, the list (722 entries) is now weeded for canceled accounts and re-sorted. yabennipohs is still on there until I get some suggestions about what to do about this.

This is my block list – bad experience with buyers, from other sellers, and otherwise just happened to find them on eBay. intimidated-unforgivence is harrassive through emails will send multiple emails (14 emails to us asking for lower price) will not take no for an answer. this_is_how_i_buy bought a $12 item a few days before xmas… sent them the wrong color our mistake but they wanted us to EXPRESS mail them a new one on Monday the 23rd and guarantee it before xmas. Demanded a full refund and replacement without returning the original item sent. Sent us nasty emails on Christmas day and complained about having to wait in a long line because of xmas time at the PO but it took 2 months before they shipped the item back. And 2817happisme – has been mass blocked by several sellers because they have a “its a buyer’s world” sentimentality – demand that seller’s give them cheapest price on shipping or require sellers to use priority mail shipping no matter what the listings state avoid.

hi182009 worst of the worst, call us on the phone and say “I made 3 offer on ebay and now they won’t let me make any more offers on your item”, we check and no offers are submitted. So she asks us, what is your best offer price and will you take $390 for the item. We tell her the best offer lowest price is $379.00 and we will accept that. So she does a buy it now and than calls back and says my husband says to offer you $350. We tell her you already made a binding agreement on ebay and over the phone for $379, so she hangs up and buys one from our competitor and basically tells us too bad, “I offered you $350 but you didnt want to take it” We explained that she had already commited to the item and agreed over the phone to $379 We would not recommend this buyer hi182009 or any other buyer that attempts to skirt ebay policy and regulations. Dead beat buyers waste too much time for power sellers and now that you can’t leave negative these buyers seem to think they can do whatever they want. We refer to this as bad business, dishonest, lying, cheating buyers. Remember buyers that ebay is a 2 way street and you are not welcome there if you can’t follow the rules. hi182009 IS A NON PAYING DISHONEST BUYER.

The Ebayer rgr72344 is a real low class peice of work I am glad to see him black listed here. He bought a item from me and insisted I give him feed back, so I did and I wish I did not.
Because he is rude and nasty. I contacted him with the tracking number same day I shipped item and he called basicly called me a liar saying that number did not exist.
I sent him the same number again telling him what USPS.Com say’s a bout newly shipped items. He got rude telling me he knows how to read and the numbers do not exist. Then when he did finally she the shipping info he never aknowledged his rudeness. I also under charged for shipping so I had to change to cheaper shipping from priority to first class. I had refunded him the diffrence of .72 though paypal. But he was very nasty calling me dis-honest and a mis representer. So basicly I asked him why he was being so rude and asked him what else he wanted from me becase he just kept complaing. He said HONESTY (I wanted to HONESTLY tell him he is an A$$Hole). Whats to stop this di*Khead from lying about reciving the item or what not.

bought TV from us, open box – like new, then stating the TV is old, remote control used. We know what we sent, and then he opened a dispute, stating the TV is old, 2007 model, while the said TV was never came out until 2008. What we sent to him was 2009 – 2010 model. All he said were lies, then asked eBay to determine the case. Of course eBay won it for him, because eBay doesn’t really care what seller think anyway.
After won the dispute, then he said:
“Im an attorney and I won:>”
So basically this guy lied, admitted that he lied by stating that word, found a loophole on eBay, used that loophole, then won the case.
Don’t deal with this guy, he’s a jerk.

Please add iamsoftware to the blacklist. She leaves untrue negative feedback without contacting the seller first. Ebay gave me right about this, but they say they cannot do anything for her feedback because “that’s her opinion” and although a lie, sellers are no longer protected against fraudulent buyers. Thanks.

He bought a vintage camera from us and when he received it, realized that it was not 100% functional …. so instead of contacting us right away, he went out and spent $27.00 on batteries so that he could ‘test’ it (please note that the camera requires two batteries … they are available for $3.99 each from Batteries Plus) … and also said he bought a ‘grip cover’ for $19 … all before contacting us … at which point he pissed and moaned (and of course, left negative feedback at the same time, without even giving us a chance to resolve the issue), and demanded a refund.
He also claimed he was a former certified Canon camera repairman, and that he could finish the repairs himself, but if he had taken it to a shop it would have cost $150 more!
He opened a dispute in which I laid out all of the facts (ridiculous battery expenses, uneeded grip cover, etc. etc.) and basically told him that if he could show documentation for the cost of the batteries, we’d reimburse him …. So instead he escalated it to a full blown case, and Ebay has decided he gets his money back as soon as we get the camera back.
Two words: SCAM ARTIST.
If he’s not blacklisted, he should be.

Please add “raleighbarber” to the blacklist. I sold him a tire with all the defects clearly laid out and he didn’t read the auction and sent me a threatening email. I won the PayPal dispute and he left me a negative. Other than this I have a spotless record.

crider6193 paid by ACH, then reports me for not shipping the item, when payment had NOT cleared the bank, payment was being held for 21 days to clear, then files non receipt claim even though it clearly states item will ship after completed cleared payment.

Another bidder from ****. Purchased glass rose bowl, complained about shipping method, finally accepted stated shipping. Received 2 dasy after auction ended via Priority mail. Then complained because it cost to much to ship; claimed glass was totally fractured, but not broken. Set up complaint with Ebay, I offered to refund when returned IF itme was broken. COmplained long and hard to Ebay and they refunded the whole auction with postage……….and NO return!!!! She says she will return…….in a cold day, i am sure. Ebay was WRONG to refund without even giving me the chance to inspect the item. They BOTH SUCK Add her to the list……….spicegirl2004

I am listed above in the black list — theharpers3, but I do not have any idea why. The list is from 2008 and at that time I had NEVER asked for a refund from anyone, had never had a no pay, had never had a complaint filed against me. I know feedback doesn’t necessarily mean anything — I had a 100% feedback until a month ago from a buyer who complained about the time it took to receive an item. I had listed a 4 day handling time, FREE SHIPPING, and even though there was a mail holiday — the buyer received their item in 8 days — They paid on Wednesday PM, the following Friday was a federal holiday, it was mailed out on Monday and they received it on Thursday – 8 days, first class mail, and free shipping. I didn’t feel I deserved the negative feedback. ALSO, I for the first time had a problem where a client bounced a $5400 check to me which completely made a mess of my bank account for 3 weeks. I had already ordered a few low price items and all 5 of them went unpaid. I fully communicated with my sellers and I had no hard feelings and I felt terrible, but it was ALL in a one month period and had received over 700 feedbacks that were all positive. It was an isolated period of time in my life and I would have never bid on any auctions had I know the situation was about to happen. I let all the sellers know I was having problems and may not be able to finalize my purchases. I know excuses are a pain and a dime-a-dozen, but it was the truth. This occurrence was in 2011. I received the above block list recommendation back in 2008 and until 2011, I NEVER EVER did anyone wrong on Ebay and I feel like my being on that list is a true error and was placed there accidentally. Prior to 2011 — the above incidents ONLY — I have never returned an item to a seller, had never had a non-payment issue with ANYONE, and do not plan on having any problems with buyers/sellers ( I just started selling). Can I please, please be removed from this listing above because I can assure you I am a dream of a buyer and always pay immediately when the auction I am bidding on ends. I DON’T DESERVE TO BE BLACKLISTED! PLEASE REMOVE ME FROM THAT LISTING? please….
