Spammer: World Wine Boutique

worldwineboutique.com (no link) is an internet wine shop.  And a spammer.  As this site has higher traffic than their own site, I’m sure this will show up in Google searches, and probably higher than theirs.  If you oppose spam, don’t order from the site.

How to be an effective spammer — an intriguing thought-experiment.  I highly recommend a read.

Wow.  Looking through Google records now available to me through Webmaster Tools, it turns out that someone asked for this blog post to be removed from Google’s index shortly after is was written, on the grounds of “SafeSearch filtering” when one is searching for — get ready — “world wine boutique”.  I wonder what entity could possibly have initiated this request.  I imagine that anyone with this kind of balls would be willing to spam people, too.

(By the way, Google denied the request.)

It looks like the company is out of business now.  Too bad, because I would have had a field day with this.
