It’s not 1995
Is there a date that you accidentally date intervals to, when you are determining how old something is, instead of using the current date? For me, when I see something was produced in, say, 1976, I first think “That’s almost twenty years ago,” not “That was thirty years ago.” Some part of my brain is still locked in the mid nineties. Never to escape?

I’m fairly certain that the default year in my brain is 2000. This also happens to be the year when I began college which, if I’m not mistaken, was 1995 for you. This test group is too small to draw any meaningful conclusions from, but I’m wondering if we’d find that, more often than not, it’s the beginning of college (or ‘moving out of parents’ house’ perhaps?).

Hmmm – 1971 was a very good year…starting college…EVERYTHING possible…innocent…passionate…The heck with using it as a milestone…Let’s go back and stay there!
