I returned from the conference last night.  I have not finished the book yet but, in my defense, it is not the “middle of [this] week” yet.

Interesting side-note: it suddenly occurs to me that I have been using hyperlinks to disambiguate pronoun reference.  That is, a reader who understands the context can read a concise (or relatively concise) passage and an unfamiliar reader will still have access to all the relevant information.  I am not the first one to do this, of course, I just have never thought of it in these terms.

Finally: I am considering constructing a topic index for these posts, as the number of them keeps increasing.  What do you think?
